* Yoga in Denia, Alicante * In the summer months group classes are taught at the beach and during the rest of the year in the yoga studio in the heart of Dénia, a stunningly beautiful town in the Alicante province of Spain nestled between the Montgó mountain and the Mediterranean sea. Private sessions are either taught in the comfort of your own home or in the studio.
“To kill TWO BIRDS with one Stone” is my objective, obviously not literally. Practicing Yoga with us in Dénia you will be moving consciously to the rhythm of the breath, feel good, increase physical and mental health, connect with a wonderful international community and maybe even immerse yourself in a foreign language.
– all of this you can achieve doing yoga, and in this way kill two or more birds with one stone.
Not only the experience of millions of people but also science has come to acknowledge the positive effects of yoga and meditation on body and mind.
Who can benefit and how from our Yoga classes in Dénia?
It does not matter whether you are an experienced yogi or starting from zero, whether you can touch your toes or not, whether you practice sports or prefer to spend your time doing other things, and it does not matter in the slightest what age you are – yoga can be useful for all of us and will touch each and every one in different ways because, yes, we are all different. Honouring the difference of everyone I try to extract the best of yoga for everyone.
I am Sophia Gegner Burns, a Yoga Medicine trained and registered yoga teacher based in Dénia, Alicante, who loves to connect people from different parts of the world as I teach in English, Spanish and German. In my classes I connect different yoga styles and practices (Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, myofascial release, breath techniques and meditation) to attain the maximum benefit for my clients - stretching, strengthening and relaxation.
Are you going to give it a go?
Yoga can be beneficial for so many physical and mental ailments.
Suffering from low back pain, tight hamstrings or anxiety? Want to feel stronger, more relaxed and younger? Why not try Yoga and feel the benefits first hand? Not only can you improve your range of motion but also muscle strength, fascia suppleness, and your mental outlook on life.
My in depth anatomy training has lead me to the conclusion that every body is different and this is why I emphasize listening to your own body and always suggest other options or the use of props if necessary - and last but not least: the joy of movement plays a significant role in my classes.
